Among the most rewarding experiences I have as an animal communicator is providing healing reassurance to animals adopted from shelters and rescues from puppy mills.
Thankfully, animals respond to “talk therapy” much faster than humans. Often, having a chance to express their fears, hurts, and sorrows allows them to quickly let go of past trauma. Then they’re better able to relate to their new situations. I’m honored to convey messages of love and support from their adoptive families to help them feel secure and put down roots in their forever homes.
If you’re giving a rescued animal a new forever home, here’s a suggestion for making the transition easier. Even if the animal has suffered abuse or neglect, focus only on the current, safe, and improved situation. Feeling sorry for the past and telling everyone about the sad history of your new pet only keeps the energy stuck in that past, and the animal has more trouble adjusting to the present happy circumstances.
